Before becoming a household name, David tried his luck in stand-up comedy. Comedy dint work for him, so he secured several jobs such as being a historian, store clerk, and a limousine driver. As days went by he became a writer and a performer on Saturday Night Live and he also appeared in a number of Woody Allen films such as New York Stories and Radio Days.
In 1989 David collaborated with Jerry Seinfeld in creating The Seinfeld Chronicles, and the show become one of the most successful shows of all time. He wrote and produced around 62 episodes. The show ended in 1998.
